Surviving Thanksgiving

November 17th, 2005 by Betsy at 8:29 pm

It’s the crazy food time of the year. Tonight I had my first confrontation with Thanksgiving. Every year Rosemont has a big Thanksgiving meal for all the staff and girls and today was the day. I’d like to say I came away victorious but, alas, I cannot. I don’t think I got completely defeated, though. I tried to have a little bit of everything, I took some fruit and raw veggies to take up some room on my plate and I went easy on the gravy. I also stopped eating when I felt full…and then I ate my pie. Not a total disaster. I tried to think of that standard weight loss cheerleading statement, “Nothing tastes as good as being thin feels” and that’s great when you aren’t staring at a mound of yummy stuffing. Oh well, maybe I can do better when the real deal comes around next week. Good luck to us all!!

Pantaloons less snug

Well, I weighed myself the other afternoon and I was 136. I have been a bit ill, so eating has not been at the top of my list, which totally rocks. I may have dropped 1 more lb. since then, as my pants feel even looser. I think I will weigh myself Friday night. I also need to start walking more. I do suck in that area as of late. Maybe I can get Kyle’s monkey ass to go for a walk down to Fred Meyer’s tonight; that is if he can take a break from the assassin game.

Walking 3 Miles Today

Lately I have been fluctuating between 207-212 in weight. I haven’t been eating as well as I was, but I did get a nice 3 mile walk in yesterday.

This assassin game keeps me on my toes, running around a bit more as well. I need to lose about 20 more to be ideal weight for my body size.

late night eating

well, I think the trick for me is to nip my late night eating. I haven’t weighed myself since my two lb. loss, but I will next week. As of late, I have not been eating so much in the evening time. I also went to the grocery store last night and stocked up on my meals. Salad, tuna, low fat dressing, and of course my staple, lean cuisine, or whatever in the hell is on sale. Today I had pasta stuffed with something and brocolli, and it was only 290 cals. and 7 grams of fat. high carbs though. Hopefully next week I will be down to 136!!

I’m doing what Kyles doing in the exact reverse

I weighed myself last week and I have lost two pounds. It kind of worries me though because that weight is so easy to gain back, and I have no groceries in house, thustly resulting in mass quantities of carry out chinese. I have to stick to my guns though. Last night my madre bought me pizza, but with the amount of calories I took in during the day, it shouldn’t have put me too far over my goal.

No smokey sweets, pastrami sandwiches, or hotdogs for me, thankyou.

But i will indulge in miniature mini crunch bars with a caramel middle.
