South Beach Diet Tips
February 22nd, 2006 by Kyle at 1:10 pmNicole has been reading up on the South Beach Diet, and I guess she has been following it. Me, I’m still of the “just try to eat right and excercise regularly camp”. Since I don’t do either one, I guess I’m not one to talk.
At first I thought the south beach diet was some sort of Atkins style thing, but I guess it’s not one of those no carbs, just a “right carbs” version. So it should be pretty sweet. I might even try it with her.

well, it’s not that the diet is all that difficult, you get used to no carbs by the first week-it’s the maintenence and the money aspect. Preparing and cooking fresh meals every meal of every day can be quite expensive as well as time consuming. BUT-I do feel awesome. I am on my 9th day, and while I refuse to weigh myself, my fat clothes are feeling less constricting AND I have gone down a notch on my belt.

Good for you! I’ve been thinking about doing the first two weeks just to kick start my body as I’ve gotten lazy and not been paying attention to what I’m eating. For some insane reason I ordered 5 boxes of Girl Scout Cookies!!! What is that about??? So, not surprisingly, I’ve gained a few pounds. I am getting better about going to the gym more regularly than I was but without paying attention to my nutrition, I am in essence wasting my workouts. ARRGGHHH!

As far as preparing the foods and it being expensive, it is, but here’s a suggestion. Lean Cuisine has a couple of dishes that are awesome for this. Yesterday I had chicken & shredded string beans w/almond slivers. Today I’m having chicken with broccolli and lots of water. No preservatives, no added sugar, low carbs, and no cooking. I live in Chicago and Jewels tends to have these on sale often. You may want to check your local grocery store. Hope this helps you or someone like myself that doesn’t cook & I don’t want to. BEST WISHES & GOOD LUCK!
