Eating Cereal to Lose Weight

January 6th, 2006 by Kyle at 3:47 pm

As a kid, my favorite cereals were Life (Of “Mikey likes it”fame) and, I shit you not, Honey Comb. Dee-lish!

I made an earlier post about Nicole’s Cereal Diet theory, then I stumbled across this article that stated “Breakfast cereal helps keep teen girls slim”.

As a teen girl, I think I am quite qualified to agree:

The basic premise is that those who skip breakfast eat foods higher in fat content during the day. Those who eat breakfast give get their metabolism moving earlier, and don’t make such rash decisions for their lunch/snacks.

So not eating breakfast pretty much says that you will be freakin’ starving and shovel the first sign of food down your throat, like Jack in the Box or some such shit.

Like anything, it’s not a cure-all. I really liked the following quote:

“you can’t walk away saying, I’m going to eat cereal and lose weight”

Anyone who thinks that thinks like the damn bulimic who binges and purges and has puke teeth.

OK, this is Shannon - but this is the first time I’ve been on here . . . I SWEAR!!! Anyway, I just had to say to Kyle:

It’s so big - yeah yeah yeah!
It’s not small - no no no!

    You know what I’m sayin’, Betsy . . .

I would have to agree that I like it big and not small. Oh! You’re talking about the Honey Comb commercial!!
“Honey Comb’s got big big taste. It’s not small-no,no,no.” That was one of the only “sugar” cereals we were allowed to have in our house-and rarely. It was all about Cheerios, Chex and Shredded Wheat. Ugh! Sometimes we’d get Life. So I was never that huge of a cereal fan growing up.
And don’t believe Shannon when she says this is her first time on this Blog-she’s infiltrated before-I have proof!!
