Surviving Thanksgiving

November 17th, 2005 by Betsy at 8:29 pm

It’s the crazy food time of the year. Tonight I had my first confrontation with Thanksgiving. Every year Rosemont has a big Thanksgiving meal for all the staff and girls and today was the day. I’d like to say I came away victorious but, alas, I cannot. I don’t think I got completely defeated, though. I tried to have a little bit of everything, I took some fruit and raw veggies to take up some room on my plate and I went easy on the gravy. I also stopped eating when I felt full…and then I ate my pie. Not a total disaster. I tried to think of that standard weight loss cheerleading statement, “Nothing tastes as good as being thin feels” and that’s great when you aren’t staring at a mound of yummy stuffing. Oh well, maybe I can do better when the real deal comes around next week. Good luck to us all!!
