Walking 10,000 steps a day to lose weight

October 17th, 2005 by Kyle at 6:15 pm

Is supposedly away that keeps the fat away. 10k steps is approximately 5 miles. Now this includes un-counted steps, such as cleaning the house, doing laundry, going to the store. All of the little steps add up.

I’ve heard that a there is a device called a “pedometer” that you can clip to your belt, or put in your pocket that will count your steps, and give you glorious info such as “calories burned”.

In the meantime, I’ve taken it upon myself to park my car as far away as possible when I visit the grocery store, and to walk up and down each aisle (once up, once down, literally) to increase my step count. Besides, I might catch a tasty morsel that I had missed the first time down.

Am I walking, or rocking?

keep in mind that to lose fat, you also need to exercise for 30 minutes at a target heart rate. While all the little steps add up, they don’t get my heart rate at 150! (This is 60% of my max. heart rate)

I prefer to think of myself as a well insulated loser.

The IP came from the same address as a few other of your comments. Maybe it was from work?
