Slipping on my Diet
October 17th, 2005 by Kyle at 9:25 amYesterday, after being gloriously hungover from a rowdy night of drinking in Eugene, I slipped up and ate a crappy, fatty steak, fried shrimp, mashed potatoes, and drank an iced tea, on top of getting zero exercise.
Saturday morning it was interesting to note: I weighed myself at 209. After simply eating a small breakfast, drinking some coffee and water, I clocked in at 211, which I guess makes sense.
A gallon of water equals 128 ounces and weighs approximately 8.3 lbs and I drank 1 pintof water plus 16 oz of coffee for a total of 32 oz. If 128 oz of water = 8.3 lbs, then I added 2 lbs of water weight, just like that. Bizzow!
When we weigh in on the 23rd, that water weight migh affect us, especially if our total losses are all within 2lbs of our goal.

If you’re consistent with your diet and exercise, the water weight effect should even itself out. A significant weight loss in the first week of diet and exercise isn’t unusual as it is mostly water weight that you are losing. Also, when we weigh in on the 23rd, we should weigh in at the same time of day that we did our initial weigh in which should prevent any inaccurate weight loss reading skewed by too mcuh beverage.
